Sand is filtered and oxygenated and both surface and buried objects are removed.

Unicorn machines can penetrate the sand up to depths of 30 cm. They carry out a continuous intensive sifting motion which airs and dries the sand thanks to ultraviolet rays. Its different calibres of sifting meshes collect all kinds of rubbish which is later deposited in hoppers that are easy to empty.

Optionally, they can incorporate a disinfectant system that acts against fungi, bacteria and viruses.

Unicorn machines are very efficient at their job as they clean and clear beaches and transform them into attractive, safe environments free from sharp or hazardous objects that may endanger the health of their visitors.

How do you clear a beach?

To clear a beach, the Unicorn machines turn over an enormous quantity of sand.
The mass of sand which lies under the surface is damp, and is turned over and brought to the surface. This manages to ensure that:

The sun’s rays carry out their natural function of eliminating bacteria and fungi.

The sand is oxygenated and transformed into fluffy, attractive sand.

An area of compacted sand can be transformed into a soft surface, making it a pleasure to walk on it.

Children can enjoy playing in sand which is soft and clean.

How do you achieve a safe beach that is free from sharp, dangerous or infected objects?

To obtain a safe beach that is completely free from objects that could cause injuries, cuts or infections, Unicorn machines carry out continuous sifting of sand.
This sifting action allows all objects to be removed, whether on the surface or deeper down, however small they may be. This guarantees the safe removal of cigarette butts, broken glass, small sharp objects hidden in the sand and any other hazardous solid waste that is fouling the beach.
How do you disinfect a beach?

If the beach has been contaminated due to torrential downpours or debris brought in from the sea, Unicorn machines can disinfect it quickly and safely. This is done by the disinfecting equipment which has been especially designed so that just before the sand oxygenation process starts, a natural disinfectant is released. This product does not affect the life of vertebrates or fish and only eliminates bacteria, fungi and viruses hidden in the contaminated area.
